Aloha! Well, we're up and running, literally. Our family has moved to Hawaii. This is our first time PCSing with kiddos. I can tell you, it has not been all rainbows and butterfly farts. I know we are blessed to be here and so thankful for all of the friends, family, and companies that have helped to move this PCS along, but it has been tough. I will say this though, kids are resilient. I am so proud do of my boys. They endured a crazy momma, boxes, living off of a mattress/close quarters, being in homes that were only temporary, 3.5 hour flight and then an 8 hour flight. Car rides, living on a mattress that wasn't theirs, their doggies/friends/family not being with them, 6 hour time change, and so much more. Still, they smile mostly and cry less. I am so proud of them.
Hawaii is beautiful! We have been here for a little over a week and we have our house. D still thinks this isn't his house, that his real house is the red door by Jaime (me too buddy, me too). We will receive our household goods on Thursday and NOW WE HAVE INTERNET! Thankful the Marine Corps has provided some temporary furniture (although the plastic on the mattresses makes you feel like you're sleeping in a diaper). We've visited 4 different beaches and we're starting to meet new people. Right now, we're a 1 car family until Dave's Jeep arrives at the end of the month. Our puppies will be back with us Aug 12! Woo hoo! I cannot wait to decorate and really settle in. D wants to make friends so bad, so I am praying that the preschool program opens up. Until then, mommy groups it is! I am going to try to update more on here since the time change is so crazy. Thank you for everyones patience and prayers! Look out Hawaii, The Rogers family has arrived!
